Soham Gupta, our BSMS student, presented a session on Bayesian analysis for our astronomy club. He explained how this statistical method, using prior probabilities and data, aids in astronomical research, like exoplanet detection and cosmological studies. The talk highlighted its value in handling uncertainty and improving data interpretation.
Speaker / Author
Soham Gupta is an aspiring Computational Astrophysicist and Climate Researcher. He has research experience in mathematical modelling of both Geophysical and Astronomical phenomenon. He is a DST INSPIRE Fellow, looking for active collaboration in exoplanet climate research. He likes mathematical modelling and penning prose and poetry during intervals of leisure.
