We hosted a talk on “Planetary Wombs,” exploring planet formation in protoplanetary disks. The session also touched on exoplanets and the origins of planetary systems.

Singularity hosted a captivating talk by our BS-MS student, Barshan Ray, on the fascinating topic of "Planetary Wombs." Barshan delved into the intricate processes of planet formation, exploring the protoplanetary disks surrounding young stars where planets are born. He discussed the complex interplay of dust, gas, and gravity that leads to the accretion of planetesimals and the eventual formation of planetary systems. Barshan's presentation shed light on the diverse environments within these "planetary wombs," highlighting the factors that influence the composition and architecture of nascent planetary systems. The talk sparked engaging discussions about the search for exoplanets and the implications for understanding the origins of our own solar system. Barshan's presentation provided a unique perspective on the dynamic and evolving nature of these celestial nurseries
