What Happened
Our astronomy club recently hosted an insightful session led by Nishant Deo, a student with firsthand experience navigating the world of astronomical internships. Nishant generously shared his knowledge, providing invaluable guidance to aspiring astronomers within our club. He demystified the often-complex process of securing internships, covering a range of topics from identifying potential opportunities at prestigious institutions and leading universities, to crafting compelling applications and mastering interview techniques. The session highlighted the diverse avenues available for gaining practical experience in astronomy, including research, observation, data analysis, and public outreach. Members left the session equipped with a clearer understanding of the necessary skills, resources, and timelines to pursue their own astronomical ambitions. This event served as a crucial step in empowering our club members to turn their passion for the cosmos into tangible career pathways.

Nishant Pradeep Deo is a Master’s thesis student at the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics - University of Oxford collaboration. He is passionate about research in astronomy and astrophysics, with a focus on radio astronomy. His current work involves pulsar pipeline development as part of the SPOTLIGHT Project at the GMRT.
