Singularity welcomed alumnus Arnab Sarkar, currently pursuing his studies at the University of Cambridge, for an enlightening session focused on internship and career opportunities in astronomy. Arnab provided invaluable insights into navigating the diverse landscape of professional pathways within the field. He shared his personal experiences and offered practical advice on securing internships at leading institutions and observatories, emphasizing the importance of strategic application preparation and effective networking. Arnab, is an astrophysicist having worked on several interesting areas of astronomy including (but not limited to) the evolution of low-mass and intermediate-mass stars, binary stars, compact objects, and star-planet interaction. He loves to have discussions on a variety of topics, such as geography, history, evolution, and (most importantly) meme culture. He is currently supervised by Prof. Christopher A. Tout.
