Who are We?

Singularity is the official Astronomy club of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata. Founded in 2023 by a group of passionate astrophiles, we have consistently been one of the most active clubs in our institute, with a group of equally active and passionate members.

Radio Antenna Project

The primary objective of this project is to introduce and explore the field of radio science among the students at IISER Kolkata through a hands-on experimenal approach. This is a student-led initiative, the first of its kind in the institute, initiated by Singularity: The Astronomy Club of IISER-K. Our central goal is to detect radio emissions from Jupiter using a dipole antenna system and by designing and testing various antenna configurations, we aim to optimize signal detection and develop a deeper understanding of antenna theory, signal processing, and observational techniques in radio astronomy.
